I picked up the game at midnight and am about a quarter through the single player and loving it. If anyone want to play a verses match hit me up.

I've only played 2 online matches, the first I got carrier rushed while I was still figuring out the tech trees, so I dropped my only nuke on my own base. Second game was much more even and I had a blast. It looks like they made a lot of improvements to the menu system, its very easy to search for exactly what kind of game you are looking for, 1v1, co-op 2v2, free for all, ect. And the ladder system is there to track your rankings and stats, as well as a system that lets you review each match and see the build order of the opponent to figure out where you went wrong, or what you did right.

Yeah I'd say just for the multiplayer alone the game is worth the purchase, though the single player really has a lot going for it. You can upgrade your units, research new abilities, and unlock stuff that isn't available in the multiplayer. Plus there are lots of jokes thrown around, like a hologram of a dancing female night elf in the ships bar, commercials indicating WoW is still around in the future (Level cap being 800), and even an old school 2D shooter game.

Managed to get it from a local game shop that just opened in the area last night. I've been having fun with it for sure.

Haven't tried any online play, just doing the campaign right now.

Just like anything else you gotta practice. Playing very hard and insane computer does emulate higher tiered players somewhat well....nothing substitutes just jumping in and getting raped to find out what your doing wrong though.

Jump in a custom game with an insane AI computer for a laugh....they cheat I swear.

1. Study up on effective battle tactics and counters.
2. Practice against computers and real players in the practice matches.
3. Play 3 warm up games, winning all of them.
4. Begin the 5 placement matches.
5. Choke and make multiple mistakes, such as screwing up build orders, letting fully loaded drop ships get blown up, or even letting a probe build a photo cannon right next to my base ramp. End up with 3 losses and 2 wins to get placed in the Bronze league.

Has anyone finished all the campaign achievements? I am having a hard time with the "One Shot, 50 Kills" achievement.

I finally started plying the multiplayer on bnet, but I have only been doing good with the Zerg for some reason. In the first Starcraft I sucked ass with them, but I guess times have changed.

I am currently working my way back thru the campaign on hard mode to pick up all the achievments but dont think I have made it to that one yet. Also if anyone is interested in being a third in 3v3, let me know. If anyone remembers bababooie, him and I are currently #1 in the Bronze league 2v2 ( I know not that great of an achievment) but we are learning our way up. Give me a shout in wow or my real id is smithdaniel@bellsouth.net. Also I have some free guest passes if anyone want to try it out.

I would be down for some 3v3, if the position is open next week... I still want to improve a little.

On another note, are either of you good with protoss? I have had a lot of trouble finding a viable strategy with them.

I found out that the "Into The Darkness" difficult achievemnt is the hardest in my opinion. I have almost given up because I have tried 3 times and am still about 200 kills away from completing it when I lose. (not to mention it takes just over 40 minutes to complete it regularly.
